High-Efficiency Hydrocyclone Mud Desander for Slurry Separation | Superior Fine Particle Removal, Customizable Materials, API Certified – TR SolidsControl
Product Description
The Hydrocyclone Mud Desander is the second-level cleaning device in a complete solids control system. It is designed to separate drilling cuttings ranging from 45 to 75 μm using centrifugal force. Untreated mud enters the desander cone through a horizontal inlet under pressure; the combination of pressure and weight forces solid particles to travel along the cone wall and drop down, while the cleaner fluid overflows through the discharge pipeline. A shaker or hopper collects the separated solids, ensuring a cleaner drilling fluid that enhances overall drilling performance. Manufactured with an advanced design, careful engineering, quality materials, and fine workmanship, TR SolidsControl’s desanders are available with cyclones made of either high-chromium cast iron or pure polyurethane. They are fully interchangeable with international brands and offer long service life, lightweight structure, and easy maintenance.

FAQ
Q: What is the primary function of the Hydrocyclone Mud Desander?
A: It separates fine solid particles (45–75 μm) from drilling fluids, enhancing mud quality and reducing the need for frequent fluid replacement.
Q: What materials are available for the cyclones?
A: Cyclones can be manufactured from high-chromium cast iron or pure polyurethane, allowing customization based on operational needs.
Q: How does the pressurized “wet bottom” design benefit operations?
A: It rapidly discharges the separated solids, reducing the chance of blockages and ensuring continuous high-efficiency separation.
Q: Can the desander be integrated with existing solids control systems?
A: Yes, it is designed to seamlessly integrate with mud tanks and screening equipment, optimizing the overall solids control process.
